Bruna Bueno Postacchini is a professor at the Federal University of Ouro Preto - UFOP, where she has been working since 2009. She coordinates the Laboratory of Molecular Photophysics (created in 2013), which has a time-resolved fluorescence spectrometer with a temporal resolution of hundreds of picoseconds. She studies photophysical processes (luminescence, absorption, excited state lifetimes, resonant energy transfer) of electroactive organic molecules such as chlorophyll, phthalocyanines and other porphyrin derivatives with applications in energy conversion devices, sensors, optical switching and photodynamic therapy. She works in scientific dissemination and outreach on the applications of light in the health area.
