Thiago Cazati obtained his Ph.D. in 2008 from the institute of physics at São Carlos, University of São Paulo, Brazil, for work on charge-carrier photogeneration in conjugated polymer devices. After a postdoctoral stay in the group of Andy Monkman at the Durham University, UK, he obtained the Assistant Professor position (2009) at the department of physics, Federal University of Ouro Preto, Brazil. He is currently working on investigation of optoelectronic properties of organic semiconductor molecules with the aim of investigating electronic transitions and phenomena resulting from intermolecular interactions through UV-Vis absorption spectroscopic techniques, stationary and time-resolved photoluminescence. He has experience in photophysical characterization of organic molecules in charge acceptor-donor systems for application in organic electronic devices, in particular photovoltaics (OPVs), with the aim of understanding the processes involved in the photogeneration, dissociation and transport of charge carriers in organic semiconductors.
